Some news you get by mail still feels good in an email world. I am honored to share that I have been selected to the 2024 Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in criminal defense and DUI defense.
For those unfamiliar with it, Super Lawyers is a rating service from Thomson Reuters. The Rising Stars list recognizes lawyers who are 40 or younger or in their first ten years of practice, and the selection process combines peer nominations, independent research, and evaluations by other attorneys. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in Florida are selected to Rising Stars in a given year, and you cannot buy your way onto the list. That is what makes it worth writing about.
What means the most to me about this one is where the nominations come from: other lawyers. The attorneys who sit across the aisle, wait with you outside courtrooms, and watch how you treat clients and cases when nobody is grading you. Recognition from the people who see the day-to-day work up close is a different kind of compliment, and I do not take it lightly.
Credentials are never the reason to hire a lawyer, and no honest lawyer will tell you otherwise. What they can do is tell you something about how a lawyer works. My promise to every client stays the same as it was before the letter arrived: I answer to you, I explain everything in plain English, and I am brutally honest even when the truth is uncomfortable.
